Gabriel Cannon takes his “Claim to Fame”

In a world where competitions have become a global phenomenon, in “Claim to Fame” Season   2, one name truly stands out as the victor.  Debuting in 2022, this unique competition series brought together a group of 12 contestants, all sharing a common secret: they’re connected to well-known personalities through family ties. In each episode, these contestants not only compete for immunity but also work tirelessly to uncover the famous identities of their fellow competitors’ relatives.

Gabriel Cannon, the younger brother of the multi-talented Nick Cannon, stepped up to the challenge with one goal in mind: to claim the $150,000 prize. Reflecting on his journey, Gabriel shared his thoughts and experiences.

Growing up in a family with celebrity connections can be both a blessing and a challenge. For Gabriel, family values always came first, even while navigating life with his famous siblings. He emphasized this by saying, “My dad has five boys. So, you know we come from being on top of each other. I think that’s why we’re cut a little different, you know.”

Gabriel’s journey to becoming a cast member on the show was an unexpected turn of events. At first, when he received an email about it, he admits he thought it might be a scam. “I was just checking my Instagram one day and I got this message, and you know, I read it. But you know, in Hollywood, sometimes we see a lot of fool’s gold,” he said.

Despite initial doubts, Gabriel’s excitement grew as he received a message from a casting agent, confirming the legitimacy of the opportunity.

Throughout the season, contestants attempted to mislead their competitors about the true identities of their celebrity relatives. Gabriel, however, remained focused on his goal to win the competition. During the season, Gabriel was asked about the tale he spun regarding his celebrity relative being an athlete. His response was as straightforward as his journey to victory.

“It wasn’t hard, to be honest. Because of my size, people ask me if I’m an athlete all the time.”

However, “Claim to Fame” Season 2 wasn’t just about competition; it was also about forging lasting connections. After spending many weeks together,  genuine friendships were inevitable among the cast. Gabriel formed strong connections with fellow contestants J.R., Chris, and Monay that have lasted beyond the show. “We created a bond that I think is unforgettable, irreplaceable,” Gabriel emphasized.
