It’s FINALLY here! The highlight of fall semester and a lot of people’s favorite HBCU Tradition. Norfolk State University Homecoming is here and filled with so much anticipation that students cannot contain their excitement.

I haven’t been this excited for any event in my college career,” said Lilliauna Hopkins, a junior political science major. “The lineup we have for the entire week is great. Star and the Homecoming committee did an awesome job. It’s truly a student based week and we will take advantage of all the fun they have planned, I guarantee it!”

Norfolk State SGA President Astra Armstrong and the homecoming committee showed out with this year’s homecoming line up. Plus, this year’s homecoming is filled with star-studded celebrities hosting and performing at the events.

Some of the celebrities to make appearances are rappers Money Bag Yo, Kash Doll, Blac Youngsta, comedian and Wild N Out star B.Simone. Armstrong told the Spartan Echo about her homecoming expectations.

“My expectations are to sell out of everything,” said Armstrong. “I am very on top of my team and committee. We know we have to promote, promote, and promote.”

The homecoming committee’s promotion efforts have paid off, with the “All the Stars” meet and greet package selling out fairly quickly and other ticket sales making a steady increase, according to the 2018-2019 SGA Instagram page.

The meet-and-greet packages includes both the concert ticket and back stage passes. While enjoying homecoming events, safety measures are still encouraged by faculty and staff. Campus police will be alert and making rounds the entire homecoming.
