Ex-teacher pleads guilty in attempt to meet boy, 13, for sex

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — A former North Carolina middle school teacher has pleaded guilty to four felony counts after she was accused of driving to a northern Virginia motel in April in order to meet a 13-year-old boy for sex.

The StarNews of Wilmington (http://bit.ly/2evvMRc ) reports that 24-year-old Kathleen Capitano pleaded guilty last week to one count of felony use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children and three counts of felony taking indecent liberties with children. Each count carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence.

Capitano was arrested April 16 at a Herndon hotel, where police say she intended to meet the boy, who she had a physical relationship with.

At the time, Capitano taught at Shallotte Middle School in Brunswick County, North Carolina.

Capitano is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 17.
