Marcus Brown listens as Odell Hallmon pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree murder before Montgomery County Circuit Judge Joey Loper, in Winona, Miss. Hallmon was sentenced to life in prison without parole. The ex-convict says he’s responsible for the shooting deaths of his son’s mother and grandmother and another man in rural Mississippi in April 2016. Hallmon also pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault on Brown and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A man has been found guilty of fatally shooting another man inside a Richmond nightclub.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/22oFd8a) a jury convicted 27-year-old Trevell A. Harvey of first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of murder in the death of Jerquell Cheatham.

Police say 21-year-old Cheatham was shot Jan. 18 inside Illusions Night Club. A witness said Harvey had a gun in his hand when he walked onto the dance floor and shot Cheatham several times.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second man was shot, while a woman was struck by a car as she fled the building. Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The jury recommended a life in prison sentence for the murder charge. A judge will formally sentence Harvey in August.
