FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) — Fredericksburg Police say six men have been indicted in the assault of a man who died four and a half years after he was attacked by a mob.
Spokeswoman Sarah Kirkpatrick says the men were indicted last week in the death of 22-year-old Stuart Cole of Fredericksburg. The men are charged with voluntary manslaughter and malicious wounding by a mob.
Kirkpatrick says two men are in custody. Four men, including two who were juveniles at the time of the assault, are wanted on warrants.
According to a news release from police, on Aug. 22, 2011, Cole was attacked and beaten in a department store parking lot. Officers say Cole suffered head injuries, and died on Dec. 14, 2015.
The medical examiner ruled Cole’s death a homicide related to the attack.
