Police investigating after pro-Nazi fliers found at ODU

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Police at Old Dominion University are investigating after fliers that appear to promote Nazism were found on campus.

Media outlets report that the school’s newspaper, Mace & Crown, says the fliers were discovered over the weekend on monorail poles between the engineering and education buildings.

That newspaper reported that one of the fliers carried an invitation to join a local Nazi group and included a swastika.

A student photographed one of the fliers and took it down to show a professor.

Ellen Neufeldt, vice president for student engagement and enrollment services, says in a statement that university police are actively investigating.

Neufeldt says the school is proud of its diverse community and stands united in denouncing acts intended to create divisiveness.

It wasn’t clear how many fliers were posted around campus.
