Norfolk airport expecting $96K from Uber, Lyft trips
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Norfolk International airport is expected to bring in $96,000 in revenue from ride sharing companies’ trips this year.

The Virginian-Pilot reports (bit.ly/1S9lO43) that Uber recorded 3,250 trips to and from the Norfolk airport between Feb. 10 and Feb. 29. Lyft, another ride sharing company, recorded 800 trips last month.

Officials discussed the figures during an airport authority board meeting on Thursday, Mar 24.

Under a deal the airport reached with Uber in February, the companies must pay $2 dollars for each drop off and pick up. Airports are allowed under state law to charge companies fees for operating on their property.
