JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel’s military says a Palestinian was shot and killed after she used her car as a weapon and drove it into a soldier in the West Bank.
The military says Friday’s attack lightly injured a soldier, and a knife was later found in the car.
The violence was the latest in over five months of near daily Palestinian attacks that killed 28 Israelis.
At least 171 Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire during that time; the majority Israel says were attackers. The rest were killed in clashes.
Israel says the violence is fueled by a Palestinian campaign incitement, compounded on social media sites that glorify and encourage attacks. Palestinians say it stems from frustration at nearly five decades of Israeli rule and dwindling hopes for independence.
