VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) — An 88-year-old woman has died following a collision with an Emergency Medical Services SUV in Virginia Beach.

Local news outlets report that Doris Virginia Baxter has died as a result of Tuesday’s crash. The 29-year-old female driver of the car that Baxter was a passenger in suffered minor injuries.

Interim EMS Chief Ed Brazle said in a news release that the EMS vehicle was en route to a city garage Tuesday morning when it crashed with the car. Brazle says that EMS employee Jeffrey L. Brennaman, who was driving the EMS vehicle, struck the woman’s car as she was attempting to make a turn.

Brennaman has been reassigned to administrative duties pending the outcome of the investigation.
