Subscribers of the popular delivery and streaming service Amazon Prime will now be able to receive their packages a little faster now.
Amazon Prime Now expanded their new 1 and 2-hour delivery service into Hampton Roads earlier this month. It is a new service that features a free 2-hour delivery and $7.99 for 1-hour delivery. So far the service is available in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Norfolk, but Prime members can download the app for Apple and Android devices, and will be notified when the service is up and running in their area.
This is especially relevant for Norfolk State University Students as we see an abundance of deliveries from the Amazon website. So far the site offers one hour delivery of essentials like groceries, daily essentials, and gifts. In San Diego, Prime Now also started to deliver beer, wine, and spirits from a local retailer, Keg N Bottle.
This new service shows the diffusion of new technology and how quickly things are becoming more convenient, even for Norfolk State Students. If you don’t feel like going grocery shopping or don’t have the transportation, just go to the app, and depending on your needs, get your essentials delivered in one or two hours.
The possibilities are endless for this service as we could start seeing larger and more expensive products being delivered much quicker than the normal wait time. Prime members are already spoiled with 2-day free shipping, but this is a game changer for the smaller products. It is exciting to see where this service will go in the near future.
The service is available from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday. If you don’t want to wait for your products, you could get them now with Prime Now.
