NSU Lady Spartans Forward Amber Brown has left the hospital this week after being found unresponsive in her dorm room on Jan. 1. Amber was put into a medically induced coma following a series of seizures and a stroke. Amber’s condition was believed to be due to complications with diabetes.

Amber’s recovery is being called a miracle. Not only has she left the hospital, she is able to talk and sat court-side at her sister’s basketball game a few days after being released from the hospital. Amber reportedly doesn’t remember her ordeal but is doing much better.

“I could not get home fast enough,” Amber told WVEC.

Efforts were made across campus and in the community to aid Amber’s family on their road to her recovery. Several organizations raised money for Amber, a GoFundMe page was created for her, and donations were taken at several basketball games and events on and off campus.
