Virginia announces signings of 4 to national letters

 

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Virginia coach Tony Bennett has announced the signings of four players to national letters-of-intent for the 2016-17 season.

Guards Kyle Guy, De’Andre Hunter and Ty Jerome are joined by forward Jay Huff.

The 6-3 Guy averaged 19.8 points per game as a junior at Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis. He is ranked in the top 50 by at least two recruiting services.

The 6-7 Hunter averaged 21.6 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists at Friends’ Central High School in Philadelphia.

Jerome, who is 6-5, averaged 20 points a game for Iona College Varsity Prep in New Rochelle, New York.

The lone big man in the class is the 6-11 Huff, of Durham, North Carolina. He averaged 16.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 5.0 blocked shots last season at Voyager Academy.
