New York man pleads guilty to drug conspiracy in Va.
NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — A 27-year-old New York City man has pleaded guilty in Virginia to a drug distribution conspiracy.
The U.S. attorney’s office says Luis Perdomo on Wednesday admitted conspiring to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine and one kilogram or more of heroin. He faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced Jan. 13 in federal court in Norfolk.
Court papers say Perdomo and others obtained large quantities of drugs in New York and transported them to a stash house in Norfolk before their distribution. Cash from the sales was transported back to New York in cars equipped with secret compartments. A traffic stop of Perdomo’s car in Maryland in March resulted in a search and the discovery of $280,000 in three secret compartments.
