NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (AP) — A Newport News woman faces a reckless driving charge stemming from a three-vehicle wreck that injured eight people.
Newport News police tell media outlets that 20-year-old Megan Elizabeth Donahue’s vehicle hit another vehicle in the rear after she fell asleep at the wheel. The impact pushed the second vehicle into the rear of a Hampton Roads Transit bus.
Police say a 70-year-old female passenger in the second vehicle was critically injured. She remains hospitalized.
The woman’s 71-year-old husband and six passengers on the bus suffered minor injuries.
The accident occurred on March 22.
