The 2024 MEAC Champion Norfolk State Spartans received the #15 ranking in the Portland 4 division of the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
“It just feels good to know we aren’t a 16 seed,” Diamond Johnson said. “We’ve got an opportunity to be a 15 seed and that’s just a blessing.”
The Spartans will play Stanford University (#2) on Friday, March 22 2024 at 10 pm on ESPN 2.
“We just know that we’re gritty, we’re a tough team, we compete and we’re gonna leave it all on the floor,” Johnson said. “That’s what we’re going to go up to Cali and do. Just gonna leave it all on the floor knowing that we really have nothing to lose at this point, so we’re just gonna play our hardest and battle it out.”
If the Spartans win they will play either Maryland (#10) or Iowa State (#7) in the second round.
