Women

The Coppin State Eagles (#4) defeated the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks (#5) 61-55. Laila Lawrence led the way with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 1 block. The Eagles struggled early but kicked off the 2nd half with a 10-2 run to kickstart their victory.

The Coppin State Eagles (#4) move on to the Semifinals to play the Norfolk State Spartans (#1) tomorrow at 12 pm on ESPN+.

North Carolina Central Eagles (#3) got passed the Delaware State Hornets (#6) 66-56. Kimeira Burks led with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. After being tied at halftime, and losing the 3rd Quarter 16-12, the Eagles came out strong in the 4th Quarter dominating the quarter 24-10.

The NCCU Eagles (#3) move on to the Semifinals to play Howard University Bison (#2) tomorrow at 2 pm on ESPN+.

Men

The Howard Bison (#4) beat the Morgan State Bears (#5) 78-65. Bryce Harris led with 28 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. This game featured a back-and-forth nature with some good defensive stretches but ultimately the Bison were too much for the Bears to handle.

The Howard Bison (#4) will move on to the Semifinals to play the Norfolk State Spartans (#1) tomorrow at 6 pm on ESPN+.

The Delaware State Hornets (#6) pull off the first upset of the 2024 MEAC Tournament defeating the South Carolina State Bulldogs (#3) 71-58. Deywilk Tavarez led the way with 29 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals. The Hornets struggled early being down at halftime 36-27, but they came out of halftime dominating the Bulldogs with a 12-0 run to take the lead. The Hornets outscored the Bulldogs 44-22 in the second half to pull of the upset.

The Delaware State Hornets (#6) will move on to the Semifinals to play the North Carolina Central Eagles (#2) tomorrow at 8 pm on ESPN+.
