Norfolk State University and the College of Liberal Arts mourns the passing of Dr. Josephine Reid. She passed away on Monday, Oct. 24, due to complications from a severe illness.
Dr. Reid joined the College of Liberal Arts as Assistant Dean/Retention and Advising Coordinator in November 2013. While in this role, she assisted in coordinating IUL-101 Introduction to University Life, a key course in compliance with the Quality Enhancement Program. She served as an instructor for the course and was instrumental in producing an updated textbook, Introduction to University Life: Forging Onward at Norfolk State University.
Her other duties consisted of coordinating assessment, recruitment, retention and advising activities for the College of Liberal Arts. She served as liaison with other units at the university, including the Quality Enhancement Executive Committee, COLA Curriculum Committee and the General Education Council.
Dr. Reid was highly respected, and a diligent and conscientious worker who will be sorely missed by her colleagues, and all who knew her.
