NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State basketball programs will host their annual Spartan Madness this Saturday at Joseph Echols Hall beginning at 7 p.m.
Fans can get their first glimpse of the 2016-17 Spartan basketball teams when they host a men’s slam dunk contest and scrimmages for both teams. Doors are tentatively set to open at 6 p.m., with the program officially starting at 7. The entire night is expected to last until 9:30 p.m.
Tickets are on sale for $5 and can be purchased at the NSU Ticket Center between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. or by going online atwww.NSUSpartansTickets.com.
There will also be a performance from a dance troupe in addition to the basketball activities. The NSU women’s team will be introduced to the crowd, and players will take part in a 3-point shooting contest and an intrasquad scrimmage.
The Spartan men’s team will also be introduced prior to taking part in a 3-point shooting contest and the highly anticipated dunk contest. Like the women, the men’s team will also compete in an intrasquad scrimmage.
Music will be provided by Izzy the DJ, and there will be giveaways and handouts during the event. One lucky fan will also have the opportunity to shoot for a $50,000 prize.
