RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Brazilian police have detained two people for allegedly pledging allegiance to the Islamic State group on social media.

Federal police said in a Tuesday, Sept. 06, 2016, statement that the arrests were made in the state of Sao Paulo. The suspects’ identities were not revealed and no other details were released.

The announcement comes a day before Rio de Janeiro hosts the Paralympic Games, which go through Sept. 18.

In late July, shortly before the Aug. 5-21 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro kicked off, 12 people were arrested after discussing possible attacks at the sporting event. Two more were arrested later on similar allegations.

All are currently in a maximum-security prison while their cases are investigated.
