A stray cat collected on Jan. 8 in the 3800 block of Krick Street of Norfolk has tested positive for rabies.
Several possible human exposures to this cat have been reported, which the Norfolk Health Department is actively investigating.
The cat has been described as an adult domestic short hair, black in color. The cat has been euthanized and is no longer a danger to the community.
