NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State junior outfielder Angel Rosario was named to the MEAC Baseball All-Tournament Team, the league announced following the completion of the championship tourney on Saturday in Salisbury, Md.

Rosario went 2-for-4 in each of the Spartans’ three tournament games this past week, leading the team with six hits and a .500 average. Rosario went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the tourney-opening loss to Delaware State on Wednesday. In the elimination game victory over UMES on Thursday, Rosario hit a pair of doubles, including the game-tying RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning. He also scored the winning run later in the ninth inning on a fielder’s choice.

In his first year at NSU after transferring from Monroe Community College in New York, Rosario finished second on the team and eighth in the MEAC with a .338 batting average. His 16 doubles paced the Spartans and were second-most in the MEAC. He also scored 30 runs, hit one homer, drove in 20 runs and stole nine bases.
