Miss NSU, Andranise Flowers, with her grace alone, was able to win the hearts of not only the student body, but the pageant judges who crowned her.
Standing at about five feet elven inches, her model height is not what gravitates a person towards her, it is the grace and joy she brings from her presence alone.
“I feel that the major problem at NSU is the identity of the individual students. Being that I have struggled with my height and the way I looked, I feel that it is imperative that I spread the message of self-love,” Flowers said.
“I feel that the ideal Miss NSU winner would lead by example. The winner would use her crown to spread the joy of what beauty really is,” Flowers added. “Beauty is defined by how a person presents themselves to others, and I feel that through my actions, I am the ideal winner because supporting others through uplifting personal image is what is important.”
Flowers hails from the city of Richmond and was a very involved student in high school who did performing arts growing up. She did make it clear that doing the pageant was a long and rewarding mental process, in which she made life long connections with everyone involved.
“I never would of thought that I would have accomplished completing the pageant, let alone win the crown all together,” Flowers said. “The people who were involved in pageant with me became a family. They were such a joy to be around, and I would not mind doing it all over again.”
One thing that Flowers took away from this is that confidence is key. For any other young women on campus or girls aspiring to fill those pageant shoes, Andranise Flowers is the role model that is needed. She is the epitome of class and empowerment.
The one objective that others should take from her is that size does not make beauty. Nor do the clothes on your back, or any physical aspects the world thrusts upon us. The true beauty of any person is the demeanor that they have that attracts others. Aside from Flower’s physical beauty, her truly humbled nature is what we all should admire from this loving young woman.
