NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — A Virginia Beach woman has been cited for bringing a loaded handgun to Norfolk International Airport.
The Transportation Security Administration said Wednesday that a TSA officer staffing the checkpoint’s X-ray machine detected a .38-caliber handgun in the woman’s purse on Tuesday. The gun was loaded with seven rounds, including one in the chamber.
The TSA says in a news release that the woman was escorting her mother to the gate. Airport police cited the woman on a state weapons charge and confiscated the gun.
