
NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State freshman forward Kayla Roberts was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the third time this season on Monday, the league announced.
Roberts averaged 10 points and 9.5 rebounds last week in the Spartans’ contests against Coppin State and Florida A&M. Her top performance was a 14-point, 17-rebound effort in the 68-50 win at Florida A&M last Saturday. Roberts notched her third double-double of the year against the Rattlers while tying her career high in rebounds.
Roberts was also named the MEAC Rookie of the Week for Nov. 24 and Dec. 1.
Roberts is second on the team in scoring (10.0 points per game) and first in rebounds (8.1). She ranks first among MEAC freshmen in rebounds and second in scoring.
